For Providers

We’re a neutral broadband network that has been installed within buildings throughout the UK.

We install a single network once, so many providers can offer their various services to tenants.

The RCN concept offers significant time and capital savings by eliminating the need for wayleave agreements, installation costs, ongoing maintenance, and of course, the capital cost of infrastructure into a building.

Instant provisioning

From the moment a tenant takes occupancy, they can have access to your network within minutes.

Tenants simply scan the QR code on our pre-installed socket, choose the provider they wish to sign up to, then they’re connected, all within minutes.

As their communications provider, you are able to send a simple secure API call to our servers to activate that tenants space, or simply use our self provisioning web portal to achieve the same.

Provisioning a port is also effortless. Ports can be provisioned to provide regular broadband, leased lines, point to point layer 2, voip only and other exciting services within seconds.

Connecting you to our network

RCN is a dual dark fibre and wireless connection that enters each building from our network, that is then presented to providers as a layer 2 service within our data centres. Most buildings are connected at 100Gbps with some smaller ones at 20Gbps or 10Gbps.

Providers sign a single wayleave with RCN, that covers them for every building that we enable.

Providers colocate their communications equipment within our data centres, connecting with 100Gbps fibre ports to our core network NNI.  Each connected customer is sent to the provider as a simple layer 2 connection, segmented as one VLAN per customer, allowing the provider to choose many methods of provisioning and authentication, such as PPPoE, X.509, TR069 etc.

RCN also offers industry leading SLA’s so that providers can offer guaranteed services to tenants. Our SLA’s cover the 24’7 monitoring of a provisioned port, alerts and compensation credits.

Providers are charged a provisioning charge to activate a port, then a monthly fee (when activated), charged at lower than the equivalent Openreach wholesale cost. Contracts are month to month.

Feedback from landlords, tenants and providers
Mark Stanton

What a brilliant idea, having a this little RCN socket pre-installed within my office that when I scan it’s QR code, let’s me choose the provider that I want to work with for my business.

In my old office, I’d have trouble getting a wayleave from my landlord, be lumbered with large costs then wait months to be connected.

With RCN I was connected within minutes to my provider of choice! Wow.

After searching frantically for offices that had good digital connectivity already present, I came across RCN.

Gone are the monopoly’s of the past, with a single provider setting uncompetitive rates and offering poor service levels to customer.

RCN is next level stuff and is a game changer for businesses like mine.
